"Visit with my daughter to get the wrong diagnosis"

About: Gosport War Memorial Hospital

We visited the gosport war memorial minor injury’s clinic. On entering, the reception were quick and efficient in telling us that they were busy and there would be a wait, obviously I didn’t mind the wait, our own doctors couldn’t fit my daughter in for the next 3 weeks this was my only option. My my daughter had come up with these severe bite looking abrasions that were roar where her skin had started shedding, they looked yellow and pussy. Reception were friendly and great getting us booked in, my issue was with the treatment. The nurse practitioner asked my daughter a few questions and then asked to take a look he passed her a gown and asked her to get changed in to it and lay on the bed and he would be back. His tone with my daughter was very short sharpe and not at all reassuring for her. He took a look and said no it’s not infected think she just needs some antihistamines. I challenged his diagnosis to which point he become very offensive. I asked the question do you think there bites and the response I received was I don’t see many bites in minor injuries, I was shocked with his response when the poster on the wall upon entrance to the building covers infected bites at minor injuries, I have since today taken my daughter to a gp and the diagnosis was a staphylococcus skin infection and she now has the antibiotics that she rightly needed. I’m very concerned at the fact that if I wasn’t the type of parent to challenge these things this could have been very severe. I also wonder why you would work in a care/treatment environment if you don’t care and you don’t treat overall my experience was not great and I would be sure to avoid in future, I will be contacting PAL to seek advice further
