"HORRENDOUS AFTERCARE"

About: Spire Roding Hospital

I had surgery over a week ago at the Roding. I was perfectly fine and healthy before I came in. I left the hospital and soon after developed diarrhoea. I called the hospital to be shoved off the phone and told it should go. I then developed a horrendous rash all over my abdomen where I’d had surgery. I called them I got nowhere. Was told to see my GP. I then spoke to the ward after numerous calls (I even emailed my consultant to just get a reply after a huge email and pics saying “allergiec reaction” and nothing more even though I’d explained how bad it was with pics too and that no treatment had worked.

I eventually got to see the duty doctor after a few days who was in the ward on level 1. He had no idea what I had but the first thing he said was it’s not to do with us. He gave me IV antihistamine as my rash was so bad. And he told me to take anti histamine at home and if no better next day come back.

I ended up back as it had worsened.

When I came to see him the second time he was 100% sure I had SCABIES ! To which he said he’d seen a few cases there at the Roding ! (Nice)!

He dispensed a prescription for perathin cream and told me to use it that night and then again a week later. I used it next day I was horrendously itchy and my rash had spread and worsened. I went to whipps cross emergency to be turned away. I then went to holly house and paid £80 to see a GP for 20 minutes who told me it wasn’t scabies but she believes it was something to do with the Roding maybe an iodine scrub reaction or something they’ve done. The pharmacist said the same and then this morning at 3am I went back to the whipps cross as I was bleeding from scratching and they also said it must’ve been the Roding.

I have now been left trying to work out what I’m going to do.

Spending my own money back and forth to people who can’t help me. When I was fine before I went into the Roding and now I’m suffering alone in silence and have a baby to care for too !!!! I have since being back from a&e this morning after being turned away again after four hours ... written an email to cqc regarding this incident.

Dear Daryl,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I understand that you have raised this with the hospital as a formal complaint, and the team are already in communication with you to investigate thoroughly.

If this is not the case, I am happy for you to contact the hospital and speak with me direct.

Kind regards,

Natasha Browne
