I attended a meeting last week at Edgware community Hospital Neuro Rehab centre. There were approx. 30 people there and it was good to meet other people with MS.
I was first diagnosed with MS in the 1980s however looking back I did have some symptoms throughout the 1960s & 70s but no-one had a clue what the condition way back then. The main symptoms I suffer from are loss of balance and low energy levels. I've learnt it is a very isolating condition. I have travelled all over the world and met lots of people with the same condition but everyone has similar conditions but never the same and I find it is very difficult condition to treat, with the worst of the symptoms being terrible fatigue.
By attending the neuro rehab centre it is chance to meet other people with the same condition and share our experiences. I find the biggest help for the condition to be exercise especially yoga and Tai-chi which are also offered at the centre. I try to attend every month.
