"heart and breathingnum"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a relative),

my father was not breathing well and he does have a heart problem and severe arthritis. He was very grey looking at clammy. The ambulance people arrived very quickly and were very polite and had a sense of humour which made it easier as my dad does like to joke even when seriously ill. They asked several questions about his health the tablets he takes and started taking blood pressure and checked thoroughly.

They were very calm asked ?'s first then started to work on him. this kept us all calm. As his daughter and it was an emergency I needed to bring my child along his granddaughter of 9 years old. The paramedics were so kind as when they had finished their assessment and treatment of him they allowed her to go into the ambulance to have a look as she loves the police and support services like firemen etc..

What a lovely friendly calming experience which helped to keep us all calm but they explained every thing as they were going . Fantastic people and service.

Don't understand how other people could be aggressive and rude to these people that help and save our lives.

Thank you for looking after my father and grandad says my daughter.

Thank you Thankyou you are very much appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story and I hope your father is recovering well.

It is always rewarding to hear stories of how our staff are delivering care and support to patients and those around them when they need it most.

We would be happy to share your story with the staff involved in this instance, however, to do so we will need some specific information. If you would like us to do this, please may I ask you to contact us on either plaudits@swast.nhs.uk or 01392 261 534 and a member of the Patient Engagement Team will be happy to help you further.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to provide us with feedback.

Kind regards,

Sharifa
