I recently had an investigative colonoscopy at  University Hosptal Wishaw. From the moment I entered the endoscopy unit, I was impressed by efficiency and welcoming attitude of the staff. Lynne and Cathy, in particular made sure that I was fully aware of the processes involved in the procedure and the options that were available to me in terms of sedation and my aftercare. While this was done with professionalism and seemingly effortless ease, there was a demonstration of genuine care and compassion which provided me with tremendous comfort and much needed support.

The endoscopist (Rosemary) equally made me feel that I was in safe hands. Rosemary"s calm and reassuring approach made what is essentially an invasive and somewhat unpleasant procedure surprisingly comfortable for me and removed any sense of anxiety which had previously existed.

I feel extremely greatful for the care provided by this highly professional team and commend then for their patient centred focus.

Dear Benmac,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback so positively about your experience when attending for colonoscopy. Lynne normally replies to submissions on behalf of the team, but as you've mentioned her personally I'm taking the opportunity to respond.

As you say, a lot of people are anxious and apprehensive when attending for this procedure and I hope your experience will provide some reassurance for those who need to attend in the future.

The staff work really hard to ensure that people receive a warm welcome, have good information about what is going to happen and provide reassurance; again, understanding what options and choices you have is really important.

I know the team will be delighted to hear that their professionalism, dedication and compassion shone through, this is the level of service that they aim to provide for every person, every time. Well done Lynne, Cathy and Rosemary!

I'll be sure to share your feedback with the staff you have mentioned as well as the wider team.
