"Amazing service in urgent treatment centre"

About: Crawley Hospital / Urgent treatment centre

I had to attend the urgent treatment centre at Crawley hospital after being bitten/scratched by a feral cat. I am 30 weeks pregnant and was worried about contracting something that could harm my baby. I was greeted by friendly and empathetic staff who booked me in quickly and were very helpful. The waiting room was clean and comfortable and only had to wait 45 minutes to be seen. The nurse practitioner that called me through was warm and friendly and easy to talk to. I explained what happened and she did a set of obs and went to talk to the doctor. I received a tetanus shot and a prescription for antibiotics and was told to explain what happened to my midwife in case they wanted to do further tests. The doctor then came around to take a look at the cut and said explained what symptoms to look out for.

I feel the service I received was exceptional and was very happy with the treatment received. Every member of staff we came in to contact with were very helpful and made us feel welcome. I am very thankful for the NHS and the standard of care I received today.
