"My reccurent utis"

About: Brooklands Medical Practice Wythenshawe Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

So my first uti started in december and i got antibiotics . Which didnt work . So i went back to my gp and they prescribed me another set of antibiotics . Once again didnt work . This carried on for a month untill they finally found one . However in a few days after the course finished the infection came back . I have had multiple utis in the space of 5 months and i saw a doctor finally after months of waiting  . At Wythenshawe hospital . (Bearing in mind they werent even a specialist) and the staff member would not take me seriously . Even my mother was there . This person was acting like there isnt anything wrong w me .

I have had countless amount of infections and i am extremely fatigued and in pain . And i feel like no one is doing anything to find out what is causing this.

Thank you for the taking the time to make us aware of the problems you have experienced.

If you would like to make arrangements to speak to me at the practice, I would be happy to investigate this further with the GPs at the surgery.

Kind regards

Geraldine Jackson

Practice Manager

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you feel that your symptoms were not taken seriously and the Doctor behaved like there was nothing wrong with you when you attended Wythenshawe Emergency Department. This is not the standard of communication we would expect from medical staff working in the department.

It is has been very difficult to respond to your concerns in a full way due to lack of detailed information and therefore if you would like to discuss this with us in more details, please feel free to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0161 276 8686 or by emailing pals@mft.nhs.uk quoting reference number PO19/0066.
