At the beginning of the year I was admitted to the RD&E and diagnosed with colon cancer. Within hours I had an operation (sub total colectomy) and found myself recovering on Lyme ward.
The care and attention I received from the moment I entered the hospital to the moment I left it two weeks later was of the very highest order. It was easy to see at first hand the pressured conditions under which all staff without exception were working.
At no time did I observe anything other than total dedication to their (often unpleasant and demanding) work. Words will never be anywhere near adequate to express my gratitude to them. I don't know how they do it day in and day out, but I thank God that they do.
I'm pleased to say that I'm now recovering really well.
"Care and attention of the highest order"
