"A happy, close-knit team"

I had keyhole surgery as a day patient in the Gosfield ward to remove an ovarian cyst.  The nursing staff I encountered were, without exception, cheerful, efficient and kind.  They gave the impression of being a happy, close-knit team, exactly what I needed to help assuage my anxiety at the experience.  

I asked one of the young nurses what had drawn them to the job.  They said “I think it’s an honourable profession. It may not be the best paid but it really makes a difference”. I can only echo those thoughts and express thanks to the entire team who looked after me yesterday.  It really does make a difference.
