"I genuinely felt like they cared"

About: Borders General Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

I attended A&E the day after falling down some stairs and hurting my foot. Upon arrival I was checked in by a very friendly clerk and asked to wait in the waiting area. No more than 5 minutes later I was called in by an Emergency Nurse Practitioner who, within an hour, had examined me / arranged 2 lots of xrays / confirmed (as much as possible) no break / got me walking in a moonboot and discharged me with a fit note.

The patient care from the clerk, ENP, porter and radiographers was second to none. I didn't feel like a burden, I genuinely felt like they cared about my wellbeing and they absolutely put me at the centre of their time.

Outstanding.

Dear Macca982

I was sorry to hear about your accident which required you to visit our Emergency Department (ED).

It is great to hear that you had a positive experience from all the staff you encountered during your time in ED and that you felt genuinely cared for.

I hope you have now fully recovered from your injury and would like to thank you for taking the time to share your story on Care Opinion which has been shared with the ED staff.

Regards,

Karen
