"I would like to thank all the staff"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Day Surgery

(as a relative),

My mother and father recently attended Monklands for follow up in the Day Surgery Area. They suspected my father had bladder cancer, thankfully it has been confirmed he does not.

My mother was extremely anxious due to my father's decorating health and was very uptight about the examination. Unfortunately I was not able to be there due to work commitments.

There was initially some confusion around what my father was getting done which worsened both their anxieties however they could not have been more grateful for the help they received.

One of the staff, who I can only assume to be a student from their description (wearing a grey tunic and looked young) put them at ease, taking time to explain what had happened with the mix up.

Working in healthcare myself I realise how important it is for these little things to be recognised. I would like to thank all the staff in Day Surgery for taking such good care of them both and in particular the student for taking the time to explain things properly to them both.

Hi Eileen49,

Thank you for taking the time to write this. I was sorry to hear that there was some confusion to begin with on your fathers visit and I hope it did not cause too much upset to both your parents. I am pleased to hear though that your father had a good outcome from his visit to us and I will speak to staff and pass on your thanks, especially to Linda our student nurse.
