"An extremely proficient and professional manner"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Cardiology / Coronary Care Unit

(as the patient),

Just over two weeks ago I was admitted as an In-patient to the Cardiothoracic Department of Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for Open Heart Surgery to replace my main Aortic valve in my Heart. This is only the second time in my life I have been admitted to Hospital the last time being 30 years ago.

What I want to express to everyone who reads this article is my opinion on the treatment and care given by every department involved in my Operation.  Each Department and everyone involved from Surgeons, Doctors, Nurses, and Helpers performed their duties in an extremely proficient and professional  manner and are a credit to this Department and of course Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Dear Captain Chaos

Thank you for taking the time to give us feed back following your recent admission to the Cardiothoracic Unit.

We are delighted that you had a positive experience of our unit and that the staff were proficient and professional when caring for you.

I will ensure that the ward teams are aware of your feedback. They are always delighted to know that they have made a positive difference during what can be a very challenging and difficult experience.

I do hope that you are recovering well from your surgery.

Thank you again

Catriona
