Visited urgent care on recommendation of NHS 111.
Check in staff are lovely and helpful. Daughter severely vomiting for around 15 hours. She was exhausted, dehydrated and afraid something was seriously wrong.
Triage nurse rolled her eyes “good old 111” she said when we told her. Made us feel as if we shouldn’t be there. The Dr was more sympathetic and diagnosed quickly and prescribed medication. Whilst waiting for the prescription daughter was sick a number of times using 4 of the bowls provided. I asked receptionist if I should dispose of the vomit down the toilet and the bowl in the bin. she advised it had to go into clinical waste bin as it was bodily fluid and pointed to the triage nurse. Who was not happy at being handed this to dispose of. “Why can’t she use the toilet like normal people” was one of her responses!
All in all we received the diagnosis and treatment promptly and my daughter is feeling much better.
However, most unpleasant nurse made is feel uncomfortable and a burden.
