Arrived late in the evening at AE with severe tonsil swelling which made swallowing and breathing difficult. I was seen quickly and was treated with courtesy and respect by all. The nurse who took my blood was particularly kind and helped me overcome my needle phobia with grace and good humour. In fact probably the first time I have not passed out! Soon seen by ENT doctor who allayed my fears this was a repeat abscess. Kept in over night and the night staff made every effort to make me comfortable. Had my own en suite room which was new and clean. Seen by doctor in the morning and he was very polite and professional and listened to my input. Ward staff were attentive and brought regular tea/ coffees. Food was good. In the discharge area it was a rally nice touch to be offered sandwiches and tea by a really lovely and kind volunteer. Left with a really positive impression of the hospital and felt impelled to say thank you in this review.
"Great hospital - well run, clean and welcoming...."
