I have a prolapsed disc with nerve compression. I had to wait 6 months for a MRI scan to diagnose with this in Oct 2018. I have been waiting for an operation which I should have had in April 2019. I have been phoning every month to see whereabouts I am on the list and it has been slowly going down as my neurosurgeon was only 1 operating slot a week. this is for Queen Elizabeth hospital in Glasgow. I phoned last month and there was about 10 people infront of me. I have just phoned again and I've been told theres still the same number infront of me as my surgeon has not had any operating slots for 2 months due to staff shortages. if I never phoned nobody would have communicated with me. I am in pain every day and not been able to work since Nov 2018. I think it is shocking the amount of time I've had to wait plus everybody else on the list
"No operating slots for 2 months"
