"If you need to seek help then definitely engage in services"

About: One Recovery Bucks / High Wycombe

(as a service user),

From ages 15 to 28 I was a heavy alcoholic. Daily heavy drinking was affecting my life in every aspect. The alcohol was beginning to cause my mental and physical health to seriously deteriorate. I was also regularly in trouble with the police. My GP told me to seek help from One Recovery Bucks. I made an appointment and had my referral sorted. I was allocated a key-worker/support worker who helped me from the beginning regarding my alcohol use, physical health, alcohol withdrawal and ways to achieve abstinence. I really thought that my life was coming to an end after all the damage the alcohol had done. Now at 28 years old I am 4 months fully sober and fully abstinent. I would never have been able to achieve this target on my own. My worker provided all the support and resources that I needed to get sober and remain abstinent. I can now thankfully say that I am. I could not have done this without my key-worker's   help. To anyone reading this if you need to seek help then definitely engage in the services! !

Thanks so much for taking the time out to provide your feedback on your experience of our service. It is fantastic to hear about your journey and how you have achieved abstinence for the last 4 months after being stuck in your alcohol problem for so long, you should feel really proud of what you have achieved.

It is always great for me to hear, as Service Manager that our processes work and make it easy for service users to come in and access our services, we appreciate how difficult it is to step through the door for the first time.

It is also good to hear how well you feel your keyworker helped to support your needs. We have a superb team work so hard, it is good for their hard work to be positively recognised.

Keep accessing all you find useful in the service and remember our Recovery Network is there to provide ongoing recovery support. Can I wish you all the very best with your ongoing recovery journey and thanks again for your feedback.

Kind Regards

Tracy
