"Hell on earth"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Accident & emergency

A five hour wait to see a doctor is surely unacceptable, the staff seem too busy chatting to bother, nursing is a caring profession and believe me some of those working in Good Hope A and E should not be in this job, miserable and rude with terrible attitudes, who interviews these people let alone employs them. My 93 mother was left on a trolley in a corridor for over 4 hours, i asked two staff members if they could assist her to the toilet both said ok went away and never returned, I asked a doctor who I saw ask a nurse she looked over and never came to us, finally I went to the central area and demanded assistance now, this got a nurse to come over. The whole place needs a better management and organisation its diabolical.

Dear Anon

Thank you for taking time to inform the Trust about your Mother's experiences whilst attending the Emergency Department at Good Hope Hospital.

I am really sorry to hear that the staff did not attend to your mother's needs as would be expected. The Trust takes all concerns seriously and will ensure the Matron managing the Emergency Department is informed about your Mother's experience.

If you wish to take matters further you can contact a member of the Patient Services Team on 0121 424 0808 or you can email your concerns to uhb-tr.Complaints-ConcernsandCompliments@nhs.net who will contact the Matron on your behalf to investigate further..

Kindest regards

Patient Experience Team
