"Cannot be more grateful for my amazing experience"

I had the misfortune to slip on the stairs and incur a very painful ankle injury two weeks ago. The next day, I phoned 111 for advise, after no improvement of condition. I was promised and received a call back within a few hours, an appointment was booked for me at Wycombe MIU that afternoon.  Arriving at the unit, which was full of people with the assistance of my husband, I was fully prepared to settle for a long wait. To my amazement, I was seen within minutes and just before my official appointment time. Then, I was referred to x-ray. Again only a short wait, and I was done and back in the waiting area to be reviewed by the excellent and efficient nurse practitioner ( sorry, I didn’t note your name) who had carried out my original assessment. Unfortunately for me, a fracture, and within minutes I was supplied with a suitable support boot and a pair of crutches and on my way. I was probable there for no more than an hour and a quarter!   

Follow up was a review from the team at Stoke, which happened by phone the next day. I am also being referred for physio in due course.  

I cannot express how impressive this whole process was and my gratitude for this excellent service. Truly amazing and free as well. Thank you NHS, you are my heroes!,  

This was an incredibly efficient use of resources, the  Virtual Fracture clinic is a fantastic idea!  I was also able to speak to my GP by phone reference my time off work, rather than visit, again a very efficient way of doing things.  I really cannot be more grateful for my amazing experience to date......... thank you all!  We would all be happy to pay more tax to support this world leading service and it’s awesome staff!
