"Cancelled Appointment with Surgeon!"

About: Victoria Central Hospital

I only chose this hospital as I’m in severe pain and it had the shortest waiting time by far; 11 days to be precise. I have now days before my appointment with the surgeon whom I can’t find any record of for general surgery in Wirral University Hospitals or elsewhere after lots of research which adds to lack of faith and confidence in this hospital. Both letters arrived at the same time this morning one informing me of the original appointment being cancelled and another letter with a new appointment for in a months time ( a month after the original appointment) . I am in severe pain which me having to call an ambulance due to gallstones and after leaving the hospital and seeing my GP he is quite sure the gallstones are affecting other organs including my pancreas and liver. My GP recommend surgical intervention and made a referral where I had the choice of 4 hospitals; I only chose here due to the short waiting time which hasn’t been worthwhile or as it stated ( fortunately I screen shot everything for evidence). It isn’t acceptable to be left in pain and to be told days before my appointment it has been cancelled. The letter states the hospital had tried to contact me to let me know my appointment is cancelled there are no missed calls, voicemails etc to indicate they have tried to contact me. My phone is always on this isn’t acceptable; i’ll be taking this matter further. I feel already I don’t have confidence or faith in this hospital and will be doing my best to ensure my surgery takes place elsewhere. I have had to add for the review to be submitted that I have visited the hospital, I haven’t yet due to the cancellation and highly doubt I will ever consider this hospital again.
