My son was my second baby I intended to breastfeed. I met the infant feeding support workers who came out when he was a day or 2 old. From the begining with him I had trouble. The latch was painful, a tongue tie was diagnosed and IFSW sent an urgent request in for reversal. In that time (same day) I was given a loan of an electric breast pump and also measured for shields. I was given help with the shields and then after tongue tie snip was given constant support by the IFSWs in order to help teach my son to latch properly. Without Lana and Lynn I can honestly say I would not have been able to continue breastfeeding beyond a few days. This service has been invaluable to me with both my children and without it I would have been robbed of the ability to feed my son the way I wanted to.
