I fell in my home in February and broke my shoulder, I was taken to my local Hospital Monklands where an xray showed I had broken the ball in my shoulder in 3 also the casing which holds the ball and also split the Humerous bone in half, I was sent to Hairmyers Hospital as this is where the operation to put it all back together had to be carried out.
I arrived late on the Sunday but was seen immediately had another xray and was sent to the ward, I could not have had better treatment, the staff were great, making sure my pain was under control and even offering to get me something to eat even though dinner was long gone. I was visited by the doctor later that night and told my op would be next day. However next day a few doctors came to see me and advised that they were going to wait for the best surgeon as this was a very severe break and they wanted the best doctor for the operation. I had the 5 hour operation on the Tuesday and have nothing but praise for the work done, each member of staff could not have done more, I am so grateful for the care and attention I received at this hospital and 2 months on I am now able to do pretty well with my arm although I am aware it will never be 100%. I hear stories all the time about bad reports on hospitals but I have to say a huge thank you to all the staff here.
"the care and attention I recieved"
