"numerous calls still no follow up appointment"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Neurology

I had an brain MRI in December, I have been chasing for my follow up appointment for the results, calls made and messages left, just get told I am in the queue, my symptoms have worsened over the last few weeks, went to my GP to discuss, they are disgusted that an appointment has not been given yet and on reviewing their records it states wait time for these appointments is 225 days, I have rung again following my GP appointment and my GP are investigating the cause for the delay, surely this must be unacceptable, both myself and my GP should not have to continue to chase to get results of something that could be serious...

We are very sorry to hear of the problems you have experienced in obtaining an appointment to discuss your MRI results and on-going treatment. The Trust has been experiencing a delay with our neurology service patient appointments but we would like to learn a bit more about your experience to see if we can help.

Please contact our PALS team (patient advice and liaison service) and share with them your name and date of birth and contact details and they will by happy to provide assistance. The PALS team can be contacted on 01634 825004 or medwayft.pals@nhs.net

Kindest regards,

The Patient Experience Team
