"Joints and overall health not being listened to"

About: General practices in Lothian

(as a service user),

In 2016 I started to feel really drained and feeling really unhealthy

Every moment with my joints in pain then it eases after a while,

Went to the doctor

Was boarder line thyroid condition was put on medication

It didn’t really help,

About from I did notice a difference in my skin and hair

But I started taking condition tablets once a day,

Anyway year later  later I went back to say I was feeling so fog headed

Joints in pain and stiff

Testes came back clear

Then

Retested something else came back clear

She said the thyroid wasn’t retested that should have been

So that was taken again,

Iv heard nothing

This morning iv had to go to the emergency doctors

As iv had a very sore throat for over three weeks

Anyway

He checked my temperature, heart etc looked at my throat

Saying nothing can be done but wait another week if it’s not cleared by then come back

I just feel so defeated why I am not being listened too

So upset and annoyed

I wake up in pain with cramp in my legs for just stretching

My hip is effected as iv a trap nerve in my left foot

Have a constant fog feeling and light headiness

I continue to work ten hours

I catch colds, coughs and had sickness and runs every month

I can’t take sick days to recover as I don’t get paid and will lose my job

If start doing that

I need to be listened too

And I want to change back to my old doctors surgery as I felt they were much more caring and less like I was a timewaster

As for decades I never went to the doctor

Dear Sertabs

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us via Care Opinion. I am sorry to read what has been happening to you over the years and it sounds as though you have had a difficult time.

If you feel able, I would encourage you to speak to your GP to let them know how you are feeling as they should be able to help.

If you wish to make a complaint I would encourage you to speak to the Practice Manager, however the Practice will be only able to look into issues within the last 12 months under the complaints procedure.

I do hope that you are feeling better.

With best wishes

Jeannette
