"Finally found a GP who specialised in mental health"

About: West London NHS Trust / Primary care mental health

(as a service user),

Really struggled for 8-9 months with anxiety and depression. Constant visits to GP asking for help which just resulted in increasing dosage of antidepressant medication. Really at wits end as just kept feeling worse + very stressed about not working nor really being able to.

Finally found the GP in my practice who specialised in mental health.

She referred me to Primary Care Psychiatric nurse, Leonard. he listened very intently to my issues about anxiety, about mounting debt and not feeling at all capable of working.

He referred me to Mind and RISE, I am now working with them on a regular basis.

A bit better and more able to cope.

Only issue I had with experience is the time taken to access Mind. It took 3½ wks to meet an adviser and during that time I was really in state of anxiety.
