My dad has been ill for a very long time and has been to doctors and hospital so many times that we have lost count. He usually just gets told the same thing, given painkillers and an inhaler even though his symptoms keeps getting worse and feels like no one is taking his symptoms seriously. He has always told them he feels it is his lungs and recently he was rushed to a & e as he thought he has a collapsed lung again...but they sent him home with painkillers again.
He got another emergency appointment at doctors and doctors were concerned they sent him straight to hospital where the hospital sent him home. However this time they did arrange for him to get ultrasound and CT scan. He has been awaiting the results from the hospital for these scans. Whilst he is waiting his health is continuing to worsen, with doctors having to come to house to try and help him. The doctor confirmed that on their records from hospital the CT scan shows he has a tumor in his lung but he has yet to be contacted by the hospital to advise of this and how bad this is. I feel that this is in return making my dads health worse as my dad had lung issues many years ago. I feel that the time it is taking to try and get my dad treated is appalling especially he has been saying all this time its his lungs and it has taken so long just to get a scan which now confirms he has a tumor and we still don't know how serious this is. The doctor has marked this as urgent due to how bad my dads health is getting and he is still awaiting a response from the respiratory clinic on all of this. with waiting for a response I feel this could have a serious impact on my dads health even more as with his symptoms getting work this could be the cancer spreading. There seems to be no contact for the department dealing with it and the wait has went on long enough. very disappointing and feels like there is no support at all for my dad during this time
"Too long to deal with urgent marked cases"
