"I have to ring a premium number"

About: WestMARC (West of Scotland Mobility and Rehabilitation Centre)

(as a service user),

I'm just leaving some feedback about WestMARC run by Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

The number that I have to ring is a premium number, that costs me 73p per minute? Thats ridiculous, how can you possibly expect somebody to pay that when they're on disability benefits? I cannae understand it.

I don't see why they dinnae have a freephone or penny a minute lines

Dear mercurysk79,

Thank you very much for posting your comments.

The use of the 0844 number (a local call rate number) has been highlighted on Care Opinion previously and was one of the areas that we worked closely with our telecoms department to ensure that we moved over to a 0300 number to minimise cost for Patients, families and carers contacting us using a mobile etc.

We are please to announce that have updated our number to 0300 790 0129 however we will be using both numbers for the time being to allow everyone to be advised of the change. This site is one of the ways in which we can pick up these issues and make changes.

Thank you again for posting your feedback, it really is a great way for us all to communicate issues and solutions.

Kind regards

Heather Richardson
