As an amputee I often go to Westmarc for adjustments to my prosthetic limb, physiotherapy and other support. I have been treated excellently by my prosthetist and the health care team.
However, I'm quite shocked at the lack of care from the people in the workshop. I know they are very busy, I have been a witness to this whilst waiting for work on my prosthetic leg, even so a recent visit left me feeling quite upset.
I wanted to see if they could make my limb look a bit better cosmetically as I wanted to be able to wear skirts and dresses with more confidence. When they returned the limb to me it looked dreadful, there were holes in the stocking covering. When I phoned the prosthetist they were very apologetic at having just done a quick job without actually looking at how it looked. They should have stripped all the outer layers and reapplied new layers but this was not done.
I think the quality from the workshop could and should be vastly improved.
