"Awful treatment at A&E"

About: Hinchingbrooke Hospital / Accident and emergency

I attended A&E on the advice of my GP, when I arrived I was held back because I wanted a private room to discuss my symptoms after IVF treatment, because of the personal nature of it, which has left me in considerable pain. They refused to investigate any further than putting his hand on my abdomen area, informing me I had to attend a GUM clinic. This has caused me considerable distress as I had IVF treatment that may have been unsuccessful and I was treated like someone who went out and had unprotected sexual intercourse, when I haven’t. I haven’t been checked to ensure I’m not having an eptopic pregnancy, no observations was taken and despite my explaining that it was impossible for me to have a sti, I was dismissed and not listened to. I can barely walk from the pain I’m in and If this lack of care and no investigation causes me any complications or infertility in the future I will be taking this further.
