"Hip surgery"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I recently had a complete new left hip at Grantham hospital, Lincolnshire.

All the staff were BRILLIANT.

Food was good, just the right amount for post operative patients. Pain relief was good. I had an epidural and the recovery time was very short.

The only suggestion to improve the procedure would be:- because of the epidural, I had no feeling below the waist, and no control over my bladder, every time I moved, I leaked and had to hold a bottle between my legs until I regained control over my bladder.

If I had worn a sheath with a bag attached this would have helped. I regained control over my bladder after about four hours.

Overall the care was excellent, great friendly staff. I would recommend this hospital to anyone.
