I recently stayed on the Shopland ward following a spinal fusion. The staff that I encountered during my stay were all fantastic. They all work extremely hard , often cutting their break times short to help out there colleagues and see to the needs of the patients. The care that I received, I could not fault. All helpful, polite and often asking if I was ok or in need of pain relief when passing by. All the staff are very busy on this ward but true angels with a smile and reassuring words when necessary. I thank you all for making my stay as comfortable as possible ( when just undergone spinal surgery)! Your amazing work did not go unnoticed by my self and the other patients whom were on my ward all said the same . We felt lucky to have around us staff that cared, whom were clearly passionate about their work and wanted to help and make a difference to the patients in their care. Some seem way to quick to judge and criticise, instead of actually observing what is going on around them and accepting that your not the only patient in their care. I can only suggest that before others write a negative review about a service that in my opinion is trying to do the best they can in some very challenging times, is to really look around you and observe the care going on. Thanks again Shopland ward. You deserve this praise.
