"Excellent care - day surgery"

I recently underwent day surgery at Airedale Ward 20.

The staff were excellent and the ward clean and tidy.

I was treated with care and respect throughout my short stay.

Everything was explained clearly to me and any questions I had were answered comprehensively.

The nurse looking after me was clearly very experienced and competent.

I felt in good hands.

The doctors likewise.

They were professional and humorous (just the right balance!)

I felt entirely at ease going in to surgery.

I was under general anaesthetic and went out "like a light".

I awoke a while later back in the ward with no pain, just a cup of tea and some toast - lovely!

I was kept in for an hour or two for observation and then allowed home.

It's been nearly two weeks since the operation and I have followed my instructions and have so far had no pain or discomfort so hopefully it was a success.

My thanks to a caring and highly professional team - you're a credit to the NHS.
