Following my results from the various biopsies, I was referred to the specialist Sarcoma unit in Edinburgh where I have now undergone further fairly extensive surgery by the Urology team lead by Mr Mariappan and the lead Orthopaedic Surgeon Mr Paton. My reason for writing this article is to thank these surgeons and their colleagues for such a wonderful job they have done.
Although it is still only 17 days post surgery and I am still at the beginning of the recovery process, I would especially like to all those dedicated nurses in the ITU in Royal Edfirmary Edinburgh, The HDU at the Western and latterly ward 56 at the Western. I started off with the intention of singling out all those who have been so impressive with their care, understanding and support. The list became too long.
I would however like to single out Staff nurse Paula, who has just been so thorough and professional whenever she has been in duty. Nothing has been too much trouble for her and through my stay she has always had a cheerful and friendly smile. I am in awe of just how much she has managed to keep this demanding ward on a happy and even keel. Her knowledge of the disciplines involved on this ward are fantastic and I know that I am not alone in thinking this.
Rachelle and Avril were also wonderful.
