"Terrible"

Visited the urgent care centre this evening. The waiting room was completley empty, so I wrongly assumed seeing a medical professional would not be a problem.

Was advised that appointments had to be made, which seemed a little strange as there was no reference to this on the centre's webpage nor had I seen any communication locally to advise that this was now the case. The receptionist advised she could see if an appointment was available. She asked my name and dob, when she couldn't find me on the system she then asked multiple times if I had given her the incorrect name or dob (because obviously I wouldn't know either of these). She continued to say she couldn't find me... I then explained my registered surgery was outside the harborough district and she was able to find me (why I had to guess why I couldn't be found on the system was laughable) she then explained there were no appointments. Confused and convinced I must be in the wrong place because this couldn't be the urgent care centre asking me to make an appointment and not seeing patients when there is an empty waiting room I asked if I was in the right place in the hospital as I wasn't aware appointments were necessary for urgent care centres.

I was then advised that the policy had changed on Monday. We hear in the local press that the centre is struggling and hours may need to be cut....it's hardly surprising when you turn away patients and when you fail to communicate locally that your policies have changed.

If you need urgent care avoid Harborough and drive to Corby!!!
