"Attended 27th March"

Attended this afternoon with my son who had returned home from school with a suspected broken finger. Before setting off to the minor injuries unit we tried to call to check opening times but the phone was engaged so we goggled the opening times of the X-ray department, apparently open until 5pm so we ventured into Oakham.

On arrival we asked the receptionist if the X-ray department was still open. The receptionist was rude and defensive, sat leaning back in the chair with arms folded and announced it shut at 3:30. I politely explained that we had tried to telephone before we left and as the phone was engaged we had therefore googled the opening times. On several websites we checked they all stated the X-ray opening times until 5pm.

I am extremely disappointed in the service we received today. Not only did I have a wasted journey into Oakham but I now have to take my son to the Emergency Department at LRI to an already over subscribed hospital for a minor injury which could have been treated in your unit.
