"Keeping the same midwife through my pregnancy"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Maternity unit General practices in Forth Valley

(as the patient),

I have heard that the structure in the maternity ward is changing, and am wondering if it is possible to keep Toni as my midwife?

As I feel at ease with her and she was the midwife that delivered my 2nd child.

Dear Skippy19

Thank you so much for your lovely posting about Toni, it is great to hear that you already have a good relationship with her. It would also be wonderful if she helped bring another little member of your family in to the world!

As you say, there are lots of changes happening around maternity care which will hopefully make every pregnancy journey a special one, with all mums-to-be having a midwife who knows them well.

As postings are anonymous I would ask that you speak to Toni at your next appointment. Once you have chatted, she will speak to the Midwifery Team Leader about the possibility of supporting your on–going care with her. I am also happy to be contacted on gailbell@nhs.net.

With best wishes for a great pregnancy.

Kindest regards

Gail
