"I have been treated with dignity and respect"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Oral and Maxillofacial

(as a service user),

I have been discharged from Rett-WhealCoates Ward - MAXFAX. I had a dental abscess that went wrong. My assessment was thorough when attending urgent referral ( walker) and was admitted. My pain management was 'paramount'. My comfort and needs were met above and beyond what I expected. The care and compassion throughout was amazing from consultant to HCA. All staff were extremely confident & professional and deserve to be recognised for their hard work and dedication. I feel I have been treated with dignity and respect.

I have no complaints about the service at all - WELL DONE!

- Some further non - related ideas :

1. WiFi - get this right throughout hospital

2. Plug sockets - need some on bed to be able to charge phones / devices etc

Dear hadarhw33,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us and please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to you on here. I am pleased to read about the care and treatment you received on Wheal Coates ward here at the Trust. I am responding to you as a member of the Patient and Family Experience Team, but I will share your kind comments with our dedicated staff on the ward, I'm sure they will love reading them as I have.

In terms of WiFi and plug sockets, I have forwarded these ideas onto our Estates Department, who will be able to reply to you as well.

Best wishes,

Jess

Dear hadarhw33,

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us. Free Wifi is being rolled out across our three hospitals and we have already completed work at West Cornwall and St Michaels. We are currently working hard to implement at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, and are nearly there.

Thank you for your suggestion about more electrical sockets and we are looking at ways to allow patients to charge their devices safely when they come into hospital. We will be increasing the number of sockets available bedside including a ‘patient use’ socket where possible.

Kind Regards

Phil
