About: The Maidstone Hospital / Breast surgery

Firstly, I would like to state that I cannot fault the care and expertise of the whole team at the Peggy Wood clinic in Maidstone..

I am currently in the very difficult process of waiting for my breast biopsy results. As you can imagine, I am highly anxious and fearful.

What I would like to say, is that two days after the biopsy, I received a phonecall from the hospital.

The call, when. It came through, sent me into a panic, fearing that they had found something that urgently needed me to return.

When I answered it, I discovered it was an automated call to ask me to review the care I had received.

May I respectfully suggest, that when blanket phoning patients, that the hospital demonstrates a little sensitivity that the people they are contacting, may be awaiting results that could mean a life threatening condition. Some form of differentiation as to whom you target for reviews, wod be greatly appreciated

I am very pleased that the care and expertise you received was positive and I will have pleasure in sharing your feedback with the staff in the unit. With regards to the telephone call that patient's receive following appointments, this is a directive carried out by NHS England in order to evaluate the patient experience. However, I fully understand why this would cause panic and worry for patients that are awaiting results.
