"Ward 111 OPAT service"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Infectious Diseases

(as the patient),

Went to ward 111 to discuss going home on drip antibiotics I didn't know this was possible then when I met the OPAT team I was asked if I would want to do them myself! ! After some great teaching and supervision by Sharon I was going home and back to work while doing my own antibiotics I can't thank the Nhs,   Dr Bateman and Sharon enough great teamwork

Dear Diabeticfoot

Many thanks for taking the time to feedback regarding your experience with the OPAT team.

I am delighted to hear that with the teaching and supervision you were able to administer your own antibiotics whilst continuing to work.

We always aim to deliver a person centred approach to care and glad to hear that we achieved this with yourself.

I will share your comments with Sharon and Dr Bateman, they will be delighted to get such positive feedback regarding the service that they deliver

With thanks and best wishes

Fiona Robertson

Chief Nurse
