"Exceptional care"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Respiratory Medicine (Ward 17)

(as the patient),

I was a patient at Monklands hospital in Ward 17 - Respiratory

I was admitted with a suspected blood clot on my lung,  I was very upset as I have just recently had a baby and at the time of admission my baby Girl was only 2 weeks old.

I was in a lot of pain and the nurses made sure I got the pain killers needed so that I could be comfortable and sleep.

A special mention to Ward Sister Eileen who was incredible and is a credit to the hospital although it was busy she made sure all the staff knew exactly what they were doing.

I would also like to thank the staff Sam, Pauline, Ashley, Laura & Gillian.

From the nurses to the ward cleaners everyone was exceptionally kind and understanding and even though they were so busy and working at 100% everyone of them had time to listen and understand that being admitted to hospital unexpectedly is worrying and they made sure you had the heat care available.

Thank you from me and all my family for being amazing and getting me home.

Dear Mum of 2 week baby

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your comments on Care Opinion. As the Senior Nurse for Ward 17 I will ensure your comments are shared within the team and in particular with the staff you mention by name.

Your comment regarding your care in the ward is the person centred approach that Eileen and her team strive to deliver every day, every time to every patient and to know that your experience reflects this is fantastic feedback for the whole team.

This must have been a very frightening time for you especially after having a baby so recently, so knowing that we made a difference is the best feedback we can get.

I wish and your new baby all the very best and hope your health is improving.

Kind regards

Eileen
