Currently I am being treated by High Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville Hospitals. It started out by me having an issue with my eye, which I was then sent to the wrong clinic by the doctors at the Mandeville Practice, from there on its gone downhill as far as the Mandeville practice is concerned.
I was placed on a drug to help thin the blood and to prevent clots forming, High Wycombe advised me at the time that for future prescriptions my doctors would be able to prescribe these drugs.
Letters were sent via the NHS portal to update the Mandeville practice of the treatment and my medication.
As I was running low I visited the surgery in ample time to get the new prescription, however the reception team advised me that my records had not been updated so there was no way I could obtain my medication, this was repeated a number of times even though I had contacted the secretaries at High Wycombe who confirmed my records had been sent. it was now two weeks later and I had run out of the medication required.
It took a number of phone calls to High Wycombe to the secretary's office and for them to call the Mandeville practice and to take the admin to task that I finally received my medication, some 7 days after it had run out.
It seemed as though there was no effort made by the receptionists to check with the doctors or practice secretary or admin staff if my records were held and to see if my on screen notes could be updated, it was if it was the computer says no was their only answer.
Do I feel let down, yes I do, yes I am sending a formal letter of complaint.
