Despite being a seasoned healthcare professional, I found my 10 day CCU admission in December entirely bewildering - a very different experience to be at the receiving end of care!
What made a difficult journey a little easier was the unending compassion with which I was treated by the team, who were quick to reassure, explain, support, lift my spirits and overall deliver excellent care.
There really are too many people to thank, but particular mentions go to:
- the porters, whose good humour provided excellent distraction
- the domestic staff, who kept my room spotless in an uninvasive manner
- Dr Francis for his endless patience
- and most of all, the nursing team, who provided constant support, supervision and distraction; my most heartfelt thanks goes to Donna who was there on the night I was admitted and was a constantly comforting and calming influence through some of the hardest moment.
An enormous thanks to all of you x
