My wife has just been called by a rude patronising receptionist trying to force flu jabs. (10/03/2019)
The receptionist was rude and pushy to get my wife to get a flu jab.Patient choice and Dignity and respect are key important factors when working on the frontline of the NHS and speaking to patients. This receptionist who didn't want to leave a name is clearly in need of basic training in dealing with patients. The receptionist hung up the phone when she didnt get her way.
I called back and spoke to her and she didn't want to leave a name.
The organisation is a GP practice first where the needs of patients and patient choice comes first and business centre second. Pushing to get my wife to have a flu jab when she clearly said no and then questioning whether she was being coerced into saying no was rude and somewhat patronising.
Training on basic manners is not the responsibility of the practice but I hope the organisation reviews receptionists poor telephone skills when speaking to patients.
