"Improved Day Medicine"

About: Stirling Royal Infirmary / Clinical haematology

(as a service user),

I've been having venesection for 3 years, the service has always been great with a dedicated resource, and waiting times have been minimal for a busy unit.

The dedicated resource stopped about a year ago, and there was a noticeable drop in efficiency and and increase in waiting time and more pressure across the unit as a whole.

 The resource has now been replaced!  What a difference.   In and out in 15 mins, quickest ever, new location for Day Medicine is much better, brighter and easier with the parking.

Staff are great, and very professional.  Well done.

Thanks for taking the time to feedback your positive experience within day medicine we have been settled in our new home for a few months now and wanted to look at what improvements we could make for patients. As you said we previously had a venesection clinic in place on a Thursday but this resource and space became unavailable. The new unit allows us the space to run the clinic with a dedicated member of staff taking responsibility for this service. I am glad it is making a difference.
