Very grateful & amazed by the friendly, calm, cheerful A&E staff following sudden facial swelling. Resus cannot make the good night's sleep promises that hotels make but it was certainly hospitable and wonderful to find laughter & shared stories & trust in what could have been frightening & lonely.
Dr thinks I probably have oral allergy syndrome, whereby some hayfever sufferers start overreacting to things their bodies' misinterprete as pollen. (Over react? moi?) (Dr described it as having an exuberant immune system, I rather like that)
Now to sleep & look forward to appointment with the allergy clinic. Care for the future not just in the moment. As I said, grateful for our NHS, especially Whiston A&E.
"Friendly, calm & cheerful, laughter, shared..."
