I attended last week for my apt. For my catheter change
The health care assistant duly welcomed my husband and I very warmly and cracked light hearted banter between themselves ad my husband has to. Transport me to all apts
I explained to the health care assistant what changers had happened to me physically and painfully internally over the last week or so
She eased my worries with comforting words and most. Welcome hug
When I saw Nicola ....Registered nurse who had already been briefed by Health care assistant went gently into more personal details with me my new problems
Following my examination and change of catheter another incident occurred relating to my original problem
Again Nicola explained what my current two possible problems are in great detail but simply explained what these were and the next steps that needed to be done and top of the list was apt with consultant urologist and possible outcomes that could possibly happen.
Throughout this very personal procedure I was treated highly respectively with dignity and professionalism with appropriate humour to lighten my nervous which it certainly helped greatly
This had been my fourth apt at louth urology dept and I have always been treated with respect, dignity, and professionalism by the nursing staff secretary's and consultant
Louth urology department is a shining example of how extremely good patient experience should be delivered
I thank all the staff who work in this department
