"I need answers and pain relief"

About: Johnson Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I have had an issue with my pelvis/hip for nearly a year now. Still trying to get to the bottom of the issue. My consultant is off for 6 weeks so my appointment had been moved. Spoke to the secretary who was very helpful and arranged for me to go to fracture clinic to try and get some pain relief as I’m struggling even with a crutch to walk with out a large amount of pain. I’m also not sleeping well due to the pain. 

The dr I saw said take anti inflammatory meds. I can’t do that I have ITP. I would of taken that months ago if I could. my current medication is not touching the pain. 

The dr was very hard to understand and said I would need an injection to help. Myself and the nurse both asked if I could have it now. He replied no she can come back in a couple of weeks for it. 

My concern is he was covering my consultant and I’ve got an appointment next week. Who am I going to see and are they also going to say come back the following week. 

I’m in my early 40’s and not able to walk far. I can’t go swimming as I can’t walk after being in the pool. This time last year I was running 30km a week and cycling. I need answers and pain relief. 

Sorry for the rant but I’m so worn out by the pain.

I am really sorry that you have had to contact us in these circumstances, your worry is very evident from the comments you have left.

Clearly we cannot give out any medical advice, but would urge you to contact the medical secretary again who will be able to tell you who you may see next week and also maybe able to help you get the answers you so need.

Thank you Sharon for your reply,

I will contact the secretary later today. I hope I manage to get through as last time it took a number of voice messages and continuous calls to get through. Understand they are very busy but even if their was a message to say they are in the office or not would be a great help.
