"Doctor refused to treat my daughter"

About: Dr Sn Clay and Partners

On a recent visit, the doctor refused to treat my daughter. The doctor referred us to forward thinking. I did explain that we had tried forward thinking before and they were no help at all. I said the reason we went to forward thinking was my daughter had expressed suicidal tendencies to ChildLine and the police came to my house as a result. My daughter had been put in isolation at school and removed from her class for threatening thoughts towards her teacher. More recently my daughter has had severe concentration problems and failed all of her mock exams even though she is more than capable of passing most of them. She is falling asleep all the time and clearly depressed. I have begged for help as its my daughters GCSE year. The doctor was resolute in refusing any help and said come back if nothing changes. I am now contacting my MP to complain. I am a single mother but I am in full time employment and not claiming benefits. I simply want help for my daughter. I also told the doctor that my daughters cousin is in a high security mental hospital and has been for the past 2 years. The doctor said this was a distant relative and had no bearing on anything. I told the doctor that my mother was bi-polar and on strong medication for this condition all her adult life. My mother had also spent many long spells in a mental hospital as I was growing up. I told the doctor that I was worried about my daughter as she displays many of the characteristics my mother did. The doctor dismissed all of this and said her blood tests came back normal and there is nothing medically wrong with her. I do not recommend this surgery to anyone with any mental condition as they obviously have no experience in this field.
