My wife was in AMU back in August 2017 and was referred to Neurology it was only in October 2018 we got to see a Consultant. This Consultant as soon as they'd read the notes blamed my wife's drinking for her fits and falls. My wife hasn't had a drink for over 3 years, but this consultant dismissed everything we told her. The consultant then wanted to send my wife for an EEG at City Hospital when we asked to have the test done at the QE we were refused.
After this appointment we made efforts to have the test at the QE, even speaking with the Consultants secretary who when pushed put the phone down on me. We also made a complaint to PALS in January 2019 only to hear nothing.
We're glad to say with the help of our GP and his staff we are now having the EEG done at the QE.
We're very disappointed in Solihull Hospital and the way they seem to treat recovering alcoholics.
