"Neurology Appointment"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital University Hospital Hairmyres / Neurology University Hospital Hairmyres / Radiology University Hospital Monklands / Neurology

(as the patient),

Today I attended a Neurology appointment at Monklands Hospital. I have waited 16 weeks  since being added to the waiting list for the appointment. I arrived at Monklands today and was taken promptly for my appointment. It wasn’t the Dr I expected as they were off sick today and a locum was in their place. This is totally understandable. However, the Dr today had no access to my referral letter, MRI scans that were done in Hairmyres and The Golden Jubilee or my notes. They tried a few times to try and access a system on the computer. Unfortunately I was sent away today and told I will need to wait another 2 months to be seen.  I simply cannot wait another two months for answers.

I feel totally let down and feel like I’ve just been left to get on with it. The dr today was sympathetic but obviously couldn’t do anything to help me today. They also felt that I was being seen in the wrong clinic as they felt a more permanent neurologist would be the way forward for me. I am disappointed and disheartened.
