"Returning to his former self"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

Opal house have been wonderful with our 99 year old dad who came into Wythenshawe hospital in very poor health after carers allowed him to eat just sandwiches with no substance. Doctors pronounced him anaemic and he needed close monitoring to help him recover. He is now returning to his former self and has put on weight, looking much better and looking forward to carrying on with his life. This is due to the care given to him by the staff at Opal House. Thank you all.

Thank you for your positive comments posted on the NHS website regarding your father's care at Opal House, Wythenshawe Hospital.

It was very kind of you to take the time to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback which reflects their hard work and dedication. It was reassuring to read that you thought the staff members have been wonderful with your father and that because of the care given by them you feel he is returning to his former self. I can assure you that we have passed on your feedback to the Head of Nursing who will share this with all the team at Opal House for their recognition.

Update posted by Stan the man (a relative)

Dad is now well on the way to recovery and we are looking for a care home where he will get the kind of attention given by the staff at Opal house. Thank you all.
